Privacy

Tilltopps counts height you gain by walking uphill. Almost nothing else about you is needed to do that, and almost nothing else is stored.

What we keep

Location

Location is used for two things: showing the mountains near you, and noticing when you are actually standing on a summit you climbed. It is a single point at a moment, not a recorded trail. The ascent itself comes from the barometer, so a session works with location switched off.

What we do not do

Where it lives

Your account and your climbing history are stored on our servers in the EU (AWS eu-north-1, Stockholm), with a nightly encrypted backup in the same region. A summit photo you publish is stored as a static object behind our own content delivery network.

Your copy, and your deletion

Deleting your account in the app removes your identity, your address and your published items. Ascent totals that other players already saw in a challenge or on a team board stay as an anonymous number, because removing them would rewrite a result someone else finished by.

Ask for a copy of what we hold, or for its deletion, at walk@tilltopps.app.

Children

Tilltopps is not designed for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

This page is the privacy notice for the Tilltopps app and this website. If the app changes what it collects, this page changes first.
